![]() On high settings the same scene would cause a frame drop down to 80 or sometimes even 75. On mid settings my frames would dip down to 90, sometimes even to around 85-89. Climb onto some high vantage point and look into the direction of the train depot. The frames would drop to a lower number compared to mid settings when there was much to see on the screen. I discovered that my overall performance was much smoother when I played with a high quality preset in the ingame graphics settings. The next thing that I found out is really strange and really curious. There is just too many factors to count in and so each and everyone will have to find his/her optimal combination of V-Sync, G-Sync and FPS cap settings. Maybe leave V-Sync off entirely if you don't mind a bit of screen tearing and have no stuttering problems. The input is nice and low but that is not worth the annoying stuttering.Īs usual there is no definitive and perfect solution. For me setting up a manual FPS cap causes stuttering in some games. An FPS cap slightly below your monitor's refresh rate can literally HALVE the measured input lag, but it can come with a cost. V-Sync will increase input lag but it is NEEDED for G-Sync to work as intended. So go and check that.Īlso tinker around with setting a manual FPS cap. Sometimes the Nvidia Control Panel can behave weird and exclude particular games from the global settings. Also enable G-Sync globally (if you have a compatible monitor) and specifically enable it for Metro Exodus. If you wanna use V-Sync disable the ingame V-Sync option and instead use V-Sync from the Nvidia Control Panel. ![]() I really hope this might help out some people, because it really fixed my stuttering problems. But with this guide I provide you the tools to optimize your personal experience with Metro Exodus.įeel free to give me feedback. But I can guarantee that all steps listed here do have an impact on Metro Exodus in one way or another. This guide does not intend to be the ultimate be-all and end-all solution to every performance issue that may arise on your PC. There are thousands of little things that can have a positive or a negative performance impact on your games. A defect mouse driver could literally impede your performance. That is the ONLY way to optimize your performance. You WILL have to take your time and you'll definitely have to commit to a bit of trial and error research. Stuff like this is always complicated and the intention of this guide is to give a good overview of all relevant measures you can take to improve your performance in Metro Exodus. Keep in mind that there are usually no absolute overkill settings that will give you free FPS with no downsides. The Caspian level reeeaaally tanked my performance, but I suppose that's the case for nearly everybody without some really beefy GPU. ![]() I also use a 144hz G-Sync monitor so maybe some stuff might not work out for you.Īs of now I have played through the entire game with most of the steps in this guide and it was pretty playable. I have an AMD Ryzen 5 2600X Six-Core Processor, 32 Gigs of 3200 Mhz RAM and a GTX 1070 and get between 100 and 130 FPS at average. The following steps worked perfectly for me, so they might not be the best for everyone else. Your choices determine your comrades’ fate - not all your companions will survive the journey your decisions have consequence in a gripping storyline that offers massive re-playability.It's been a while since someone wrote a good guide about this topic, but it's still relevant and Nvidia has changed up some settings in the meantime. ![]() Inspired by the novels of Dmitry Glukhovsky, Metro Exodus continues Artyom’s story in the greatest Metro adventure yet.Įmbark on an incredible journey - board the Aurora, a heavily modified steam locomotive, and join a handful of survivors as they search for a new life in the East.Įxperience Sandbox Survival - a gripping story links together classic Metro gameplay with new huge, non-linear levels.Ī beautiful, hostile world - discover the post-apocalyptic Russian wilderness, brought to life with stunning day / night cycles and dynamic weather.ĭeadly combat and stealth - scavenge and craft in the field to customize your arsenal of hand-made weaponry, and engage human and mutant foes in thrilling tactical combat. ![]() Metro Exodus is an epic, story-driven first person shooter from 4A Games that blends deadly combat and stealth with exploration and survival horror in one of the most immersive game worlds ever created.Įxplore the Russian wilderness across vast, non-linear levels and follow a thrilling story-line that spans an entire year through spring, summer and autumn to the depths of nuclear winter. ![]()

![]() But some may actually have a better interface. You know I like how this little interface works here so it's another plus for me for Cloak. You can just search for Mac VPN and come up with different plans, different prices, different features. They all kind of install and run automatically. That's secret information between me and the VPN server, in this case Cloak, and of course I'm trusting Cloak because I'm paying them and I've looked into them and I've decided I will trust them although not necessarily trust the ISP that is say is at the coffeeshop at the hotel. So my ISP, the WiFi router, or anything or any other steps there, they're not going to know where I'm going or what information I'm sending. My connection is secured between myself and Cloak and then Cloak then goes out to the internet. So now I'm actually using a VPN just like I showed you in yesterday's video. You can see that it changed there and now I've got this blue icon here and it tells me by notification that my connection is secured. Then you can see it attempting to do it and I don't even have to have that open. So let's try securing my connection here now. Then it will come up with a checkmark that it's connected. It will then automatically start connecting here. You just simply connect to the WiFi at a coffeeshop. But in general once you have it setup, and if your network is not listed here, then you can count on the fact that it will connect automatically. If I'm connecting from Japan it would think I'm in Japan, which I am, and I may get the wrong language on the website. ![]() If I was not using VPN that would be automatic. It doesn't confuse the site by making them think I'm in Japan or somewhere else. It's kind of a nice thing there because then I get the English language version of websites. But if I stick with the United States that means my connection is going to go from Japan, all the way back to the United States, and it will appear as if I'm in the US. ![]() So, for instance, if I was hooked up to Japan I would automatically get the Japanese version of some websites because it determines that I'm in Japan. So what happens then is your IP address that servers think that you have and when they try to locate you it seems to be from somewhere else. The downside to using the fastest available is sometimes the fastest available is one that maybe outside the country. The default would be to set to fastest available. So they have different servers all around the world. Like for instance I can say I want to connect to a VPN only in the United States. So right now, for instance, under Networks, I've got several networks here that I've listed as being totally okay and I have various other things. But I can also go in and change how things work. Now I can manually try to secure it right here by clicking the Secure My Connection button to over override my preference not to use it there. So my own home network I've indicated to Cloak in the Preferences that it's trusted and there's no need to use VPN.īut as soon as I connect to another WiFi connection, like say one at a hotel or coffeeshop something like that, then automatically it's going to try to secure my connection. Right now I'm connected to WiFi and you can see I'm using a trusted network. Once I've installed Cloak, I've downloaded and installed it, at the top here I've got this little icon here that gives me access to Cloak. So I'm able to just have one plan and then use it for all of them. This plan that I'm using applies to all my Macs and my iOS devices as well. This one works really well so I've stuck with it. I'm using one called Cloak and it's at This isn't necessarily one that I've determined is the best. It's actually very simple and it should be somewhat automatic once you have it installed. ![]() Video Transcript: So here's how to use a VPN. Mass Effect Legendary Edition takes the old games and makes them feel like how you remember them. Every moment feels both familiar and fresh as you note the subtle changes this enhanced re-release has brought, while still retaining the original spirit of the game. It’s a great experience, and Mass Effect Legendary Edition is simply full of them. Or you meet one of the series’ many iconic characters for the first time and all of those old memories come flooding back to you. You turn a corner to see an Elcor and you’re right back in front of that old TV, giddy at the site of this fascinating alien. Playing through these three titles often does feel like going home again. This was a labor of love, and one intended to represent the original spirit of the Mass Effect franchise. The team didn’t simply take the old code, pop it on a new disc and call it a day. Better graphical fidelity, higher framerates, sharper controls, a cleaner interface and menu, and much more. More than this though, the games have been upgraded to make them more palatable to new and returning players. Mass Effect Legendary Edition combines all three of the original trilogy ME games, along with almost all of their DLC, and puts them into one neat and tidy package. And it’s those returning players that will enjoy it the most thanks to how well Mass Effect Legendary Edition brings them back to that comfort of their first play through. Playing them back to back does enhance the feeling of whiplash from some of the overarching story decisions, but the series still feels like a cohesive whole overall whether you’re experiencing it for the first time or are returning once again. However, when viewed as a whole with all of those massive expectations lifted from it, the final experience is more enjoyable than it was with years separating each entry.Īcross three games with dozens of hours of gameplay a piece players will explore the galaxy, make new friends, combat fearsome enemies, and uncover the threat of the Reapers while cementing humanity’s place in the cosmos. That finale was disappointing for many in terms of how it handled the many choices that led to its abrupt and limited ending. The second game can feel a bit like a black sheep, but ultimately comes across as a fantastic standalone adventure that sets the stage for what’s coming in the finale. The first game offers a glimpse into an expansive universe that’s full of history and intrigue.
